Journal vouchers in the consolidation

Include journal vouchers in the consolidation and its reports.

What it does

Journal vouchers can be taken into the consolidation process and appear in the consolidated reports.

When you need it: A late adjustment, still a voucher, is in the group's draft figures.

How it works

  1. In the administration console, choose Preferences › Consolidation Configuration and select "Replicate Journal Voucher". Choose "Save".
  2. From the next run, the subsidiaries' journal vouchers are exported and imported with their journal entries, by hand or on the schedule.
  3. The vouchers then count in the consolidation company's figures and appear in its consolidated reports.
  4. User-defined fields on vouchers can come along: register them in the console's UDF replication. UDFs on journal entries and vouchers are the only UDFs that reach a consolidation company.
  5. Entries from a multi-branch company carry their "Branch" and "Branch Name" into the consolidation company's "Branch Code" and "Branch Name" fields.

Set it up

The same page, Preferences › Consolidation Configuration, holds two more choices. "Replicate Period End Closing Journal Entries" brings the subsidiaries' period-end closing entries across. "Consolidation Batch Size" sets how many journal entries are imported per batch; it starts at 500, and the guide suggests 5000 when a run holds more than 50000 entries. The page also shows whether each consolidation company runs by hand or automatically.

Since: Version 55 (October 2025): transaction codes on journal vouchers are carried into the consolidation company, and the "Adj Trans" box is no longer ticked on every voucher there.

Good to know

  • With period-end closing entries switched on, the profit and loss report in the consolidation company comes out blank, because those entries clear the profit and loss accounts.
  • The cockpit in the administration console has an "Unposted Journal Vouchers" tile that counts vouchers not yet posted across the companies.
  • Journal entries whose debit and credit total zero are not consolidated.
