Group reports and control
Group reports in Excel and CSV
Every group report exports for further analysis.
What it does
Reports open in SAP Business One and export to Microsoft Excel and, from version 50, to CSV.
When you need it: Board figures prepared in a spreadsheet, from live data.
How it works
- Run a group report, or a query through remote query execution, and choose "Refresh" so the window holds current data.
- Choose "Export to CSV" to save the data as a plain text file with the values split by commas, ready for a spreadsheet or for loading into another system.
- Or choose "Copy to Clipboard" and paste the rows into another program, such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word.
- The reports can also be exported to Microsoft Excel or printed as a PDF document.
Set it up
Nothing to configure. The CSV export is part of the report windows from version 50 on and covers six reports: Branch Inventory in Warehouse, Consolidated Balances by Business Partner, Branch Balances (global view), Branch Sales Analysis, Un-Posted Intercompany Transactions and Remote Query Execution.
Since: Version 50 (November 2023): "Export to CSV" on the intercompany reports.
Good to know
- In the branch balances report, the CSV export is for the global view.
- Version 55 corrected the sales analysis export, which had always come out in the detailed layout. Version 56 corrected the CSV export of remote query results.
- "Copy to Clipboard" is the older of the two: the report windows in our knowledge article of 2017 already show it.
- The consolidated trial balance, profit and loss statement and balance sheet are not in this list. They are standard SAP Business One reports run in the consolidation company.
