Master data replication
Who may change group master data
Decide which users may add, update or remove global master data, company by company.
What it does
Authorisations per user and company, and a report that lists who may change what, for audits.
When you need it: Only head office's master-data team may change an item's description.
How it works
- In SAP Business One open Administration › Setup › Intercompany › Global Data Authorizations.
- The window fills itself: every user, and for each user the masters that carry a global flag, that is business partners, items, bills of materials and price lists.
- Per user and master, tick "Add", "Update" and "Remove" for what that person may do with global data.
- To review the result, open the Administration Console and choose Monitoring › Global Data Authorization. Pick the SLD category and a branch company, or All, press "Import" and then "Display"; "Export" writes the list to a Microsoft Excel file.
Set it up
The user list and the master list cannot be edited; you only set the three ticks. The report puts the settings of each branch side by side, so an administrator can see who may add, change or remove which master data in which company.
Since: Version 57 (September 2026): the report that shows and exports the global data authorisations by branch.
Good to know
- The authorisations cover the four global objects only.
- Use the report for audits: it shows the rights user by user and branch by branch, and the export keeps a record.
