Master data replication
The same queries in every company
Copy user-defined queries across companies, so everyone reports the same way.
What it does
User-defined SQL queries from the Query Generator are replicated selectively to branch companies.
When you need it: A sales report built at head office runs unchanged in each subsidiary.
How it works
- Build the query with the Query Generator or Query Wizard and save it. A system query must first be saved under a new name, and field aliases may not contain spaces or special characters.
- Open Tools › Queries › Query Manager and select the query.
- Choose "ALL" to send it to every branch company, or "Selection" to tick the branch codes that should get it.
- Press "Replicate". The "Check Status" entry under that button shows how the copy went.
- In each receiving company the query lands in the category of the same name, upper and lower case included, or in "General" if there is none. A query with the same name in that category is updated; otherwise a new one is created.
Set it up
The choices and the button appear only for users who have "Can Replicated User Defined Query" ticked in Administration › Setup › General › Users. Categories are kept by hand in each company, with identical names, if you want queries filed the same way everywhere.
Since: Version 48 (June 2023): user-defined queries can be copied to chosen branch companies.
Good to know
- The "Replicate" button stays disabled for system queries.
- You decide per query and per branch; nothing is copied until you press the button.
