Intercompany feature
One set of items, partners and price lists for the whole group
Keep master data the same in every company. You choose what is shared, with which companies, and who may change it.
- 80+ kinds of master data
- Company templates
- From $240 per user a year

The problem
The same item, three numbers
Without shared master data, each company creates its own items, customers and suppliers. The same product gets three numbers, a customer exists in one company but not in the next, and group reports cannot be added up without a mapping sheet.
How it works
Create it once, share it by rule
Create or change master data once, in the company you choose as the source. Intercompany copies it to the companies you name, with only the fields your company template allows. Later changes follow the same path; the fields you keep local stay local.

Everything master data replication covers
More than 80 kinds of financial, business-partner, item, service and general master data, with some lists only for Brazil or India. Items, business partners, bills of materials and price lists are shared record by record through a global flag; the smaller lists follow the company template. Special prices, discounts and exchange rates are sent with a sync button.
A company template says, per master or business cycle, whether a company sends or receives, which actions it accepts and which notices it gets. "Receiver Property List" picks the fields; mandatory fields and linked masters are selected for you. Assign the template to each company in the landscape.
A distribution template names the branches that get global items, partners, BOMs and price lists. Put it on an item group or partner group and new records inherit it. A global record without a template goes to every branch.
Per user and global master, tick whether that person may add, update or remove global data. Since version 57 a report in the Administration Console shows these rights branch by branch and exports them to Microsoft Excel.
Each company is set to "Sales", "Service" or "Sales and Service" in the landscape. The three service objects (contract templates, equipment cards, service contracts) made in a sales company are copied to the service companies. Vendor-side cards and contracts are not copied.
Copy the structure of your fields and tables to the other companies first, then register which fields carry their data. Values then travel with items, partners, documents and journals. Fields with "Advanced" validation and user-defined objects are not supported.
Switch on G/L accounts in the company template and new or changed accounts are copied to the branches and the consolidation company. Both charts must be un-segmented, or segmented with matching segments and codes. Deleted accounts are not passed on.
Switch on users and user groups in the company template, and both are copied from the managing company with the fields you choose. Discount and cash limits are left out by default.
In the Query Manager, send a saved user-defined query to all branches or to chosen ones. It lands in the category of the same name, or in "General", and an existing query of that name is updated.
Tick "Email Alert Failure" per feature in the alerts administration, and a failed master record or transaction is emailed with its message attached. The message log shows the error and lets you retry one message or all of them.
